Foundation launches retooled website

In the wake of  the roll out of the new health reforms this fall, Universal Health Care Foundation of  Connecticut is proud to announce the launch of its  new website designed to ensure residents have access to accurate and reliable information as they navigate the  shifting  health care landscape. The new site goes live today, Monday, Sept. 30 and is located at the same address www.universalhealthct.org.

The new site’s homepage welcomes visitors to a fresh design with featured content focused on our goal to serve as a user-friendly resource as well as a place where people who want to contribute to the shaping of health reform in our state can get involved.

“Our new website is one more way we’re demonstrating our continued commitment to making sure people,  ranging from policy makers to consumers, have information and resources they can count on,” said Frances G. Padilla, president of the foundation. “The primary goal in developing this site was to include easier navigation to content as well as to serve as an online portal for people with a passion for bringing transformational change to our health care system.”

The foundation’s dynamic grassroots advocacy campaign, healthcare4every1, which had a separate site, has been moved home to the new foundation site.  In addition to highlights of the campaign’s accomplishments, the new site  contains information about the foundation’s latest grassroots education and outreach programs to help guide people through the implementation of the Affordable Care Act and the rollout of the new health insurance marketplace, starting October 1.

“We want to be sure the people of Connecticut have a voice in the health reform conversation and the decisions ahead are in alignment with our mission and our strategic vision,” Padilla said. “We encourage people to check out our site and to come back often.”

Universal Health Care Foundation of Connecticut is an independent, nonprofit philanthropy based in Meriden, Conn.  It supports research-based policy, advocacy and public education that advance the achievement of quality, affordable health care for everyone in the state.
